Our MoreWine! brand 100% Stainless Steel Variable Volume Fermenters are custom-built to our specifications in Italy. The tank bodies are fabricated from 304-type stainless steel, while the floating lids are made from 316-type stainless and have an inflatable seal that pumps up to seal the wine off at any volume level. They can be used for primary fermentation as well as aging. If used for aging we suggest taking out the included airlock and using a breathable or solid silicone bung, as the airlock is not a long-term oxygen barrier.
This large 132 gallon fermenter comes with a 1.5" stainless Tri-Clamp style ferrule welded on the bottom to accommodate a butterfly valve (sold separately). Butterfly valves are winery grade sanitary valves, which means they are easy to remove, clean and sanitize. The large 1.5" diameter size minimizes clogging. Our fermenters are also outfitted with a female threaded port for installation of a valve at the base of the tank, and a female threaded port for the installation of a thermometer. Please see the "You Might Also Need" section below.
We can also weld gas fittings onto the top of the variable volume lids that will allow for purging with gasses such as Argon, Nitrogen or Carbon Dioxide. Contact our Customer Service Dept by phone, or add a note to your online order requesting a "WELD40" be added to the order for this service. The installation includes all the equipment you need to connect the tank to your existing gas system. Current price for this add-on is $49.
These MoreWine! brand tanks include comprehensive instructions for assembly, and are backed with our own 10 year in-house warranty. The sidewalls are .08mm thick, and the bottom is 1.0mm thick. 43.31" Tall x 31.5" Diameter.
